After a bumpy 3 hrs in a minibus we arrived in Ninh Binh, a much smaller town than Hanoi and less traffic.
Today we visited Cuc Phuong National Park, a 2 hours' drive from Ninh Binh. We went by car with a driver. We went to the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre, where we saw some interesting monkeys. There was also a turtle rescue centre with very good displays. We drove further into the park to trek up the hill to a 1000 year old tree. The scenery on the way there and back was stunning. The Vietnamese government had put a lot of effort into the water management in the area to provide the right amount of water for the rice paddies.
Tomorrow we take the train to Dong Hoi.
