After several weeks of building a new bathroom in
our house in Salisbury we left for Nepal on 22 March. we had a few days in
Kathmandu catching up with friends. We joined the Brigade of Gurkhas golf
tournament. I played, but Duncan could not as he had a knee problem from working
on hands and knees in the bathroom. Gorkana Forest Resort, where we stayed made
us very welcome. We then flew to Pokhare for our regimental reunion. This is
always an amazing event with many people from all over the world coming together
to talk about the good old days.
Ant and Hatty, friend from Salisbury, joined us to
go on a 10 day trek in the Dhaulagiri region.
Duncan's knee had recovered enough to cope. All
went well and we had a great time. We walked in an area without other tourist,
which is what we choose.
We are now staying in Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge
for a few days of luxury and relaxation. Hatty and I had a lovely massage
yesterday.
Tomorrow we'll set off by road to Kathmandu for a
few more days of catching up with friends.
