We managed to break away from working on Sea Topaz for a few days and visited the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. The autumn colours were just stunning. We were very lucky with the weather.

We stayed in Sky-land Lodge for two nights and slept in the tent in a camp ground (as they call it here). We saw lots of chipmunks, squirrels and deer, but no bears. We did meet a few people who had seen bears.

We walked in the mountains for a few days and did some sight seeing.

Now we are back in the boat yard and working hard. We hope to go back in the water next week.
