We had a gentle trip motoring to Wakai. Had someone on the lookout all the time for reefs. The water is very clear so they are not hard to see. We managed to find our way to the given anchorage co-ordinates and dropped anchor just passed the ferry pier. Good holding and not too deep. We soon had some girls visiting us in their dugout canoe and later a gentleman called Ellie who is the tourist administrator in Wakai. We did not go ashore that day. The next morning Anwar, the contact that Raymond (our sponsor) had organised arrived with a few other people. We had a long chat about things we need and want to do. We went ashore and during that day we had diesel and water organised, got some food in the market and a very nice yellow fin tuna. We also made a plan of where to go during our time in the islands.A very hot tiring day, but successful.
