On the 27th July Mart and Rutger came on board. We checked out with Immigration and Customs, filled up with water and diesel and provisions.Did our last internet and had a nice meal at the Royal Brunei Yacht club.
On the 28th we set off for Labuan. We spent one night anchored off Pulau Keraman; took the dinghy ashore and went for a walk. This is a National Park, but there was not much to see or do.
next day we went into Victoria Harbour; tried to anchor twice off the Ferry Terminal, where we had to check in. The water was filthy and the anchor slipped on plastic bags. There was a big oil spill from a ship that had exploded in the harbour a few days earlier. We gave up and moved to the marina area (this was closed due to repair), we anchored on a lee shore. Duncan and Rutger went ashore to do the checking-in and buy duty free alcohol. As soon as they came back we moved again as this was not a good place to spend the night. We ended up anchored off the north-east coast of Labuan in a big shallow bay. Good holding, just as well, as we had strong winds, rain and thunder and lightning during the night. We stayed the next day; took the dinghy ashore and visited the "Chimney" and the museum. We then took the bus into town and did some sight seeing and shopping before taking a bus back again.
Next day off to Pulau Tiga.
