We have been in Raffles Marina for a few days now. The Kohler engineers have been and worked on the generator for two days. They have come to the conclusion that the generator has to be lifted out to be able to get to the offending parts. As the generator is now 14 years old we have decided to go for a new one. So after some bargaining this morning we have come to an acceptable price and timeframe to have the old generator replaced for a new one. The plan is to lift the old one out tomorrow and fit the new one on Thursday/Friday. That will give us a few days to clean out and paint the area underneath the generator. We hope to be on our way and rejoin the rally over the weekend.
Poor Ant and Hatty have had to find alternative arrangements. They are now staying in the hotel at the marina, so we can see each other in the evenings. Sunday we had a day off and we went for an interesting walk and a museum visit with them.
A couple of nights ago we had a big rainstorm coming through which ripped the sun canopy. We managed to get it down in the pouring rain in the middle of the night before it shredded itself.
All fun and games. Wait for the next installment.
