Today we slowly made our way into the Hinchinbrook Channel, the first bit is very shallow in places, but we went aground only once. We spent a pleasant night on a mooring buoy in Little Pioneer bay on Orpheus Island. But this morning on the Dutch radio net we heard that Piet, a single hander on Sabbatical, had been taken off his boat by the coastguard as he was very ill. We went to see if his boat was alright and if it needed to be moved to a safer place. The boat is in a good place so we will leave it there. We spoke to Piet on the phone and he will be in hospital for a few days.
We caught a small tuna (Bonito) yesterday. Our first one of the year. Denis is enjoying the gentle sailing (not much wind). We will spent the night here at anchor. We have a problem with the windlass and Duncan is working on that. There is always something.
