We went ashore on Tuesday morning to clear-in, First at Immigration, as they need to ensure you have a Covid Health Visa, and then to Customs to purchase our 12 month Cruising Permit. That done, we went to the Clinic and booked our Day 5 Covid Antigen test, which would be the next hurdle of our Health Visa.

Free to explore, we met up with our friends Leslie and Ralph of SV Now & Zen, and headed to CJ’s on Radio Beach for our first Bahamian Kalik and Conch of the season.

We spend a couple of days sightseeing. A must see is the Dolphin House Museum, built by Ashley Saunders, a local Bahamian with materials he has been able to find on the island, it really is a delight for the senses.

Much of the island seems depressed and most tourist stores, the straw market and restaurants are closed, as there are just so few tourists. Just a few yachts, who stay a couple of days to clear in and then move off to other islands.

I tried to buy Charlie’s Famous Coconut Bread, but again it was closed only opening on weekends due to such low demand.
