Having done Charlevoix, we upped anchor and sailed north to Beaver Island. A largish island in the middle of the lake. Renowned as a Mormon colony, with the only King America ever had (self proclaimed), the small bay and village was peaceful and interesting.

We cycled around the Bay Area, this island being too large to cycle around, and visited the Maritime, Toy and Mormon Museums, stopping for fresh baguette as at the local bakery.

A ferry makes the crossing form Charlevoix, so there are a number of daily tourists, and we saw quite a few quaint BnB’s and houses for rent on a weekly basis. Not a bad place for a holiday to chill out.
