Our days running up to Kieran and Katie’s Wedding were busy and fun.
Kieran elected to have the Wedding Rehearsal Lunch as a South African Braai (BBQ)at the McHughs beautiful home on the Fox River in Geneva. After much planning and hiring of tables, chairs and other paraphernalia, I loaded much stuff from Meshugga and we (Michele, Claire and I) headed for the McHugh home the day before the Wedding Rehearsal, and Rehearsal Lunch, to prep South African foodstuffs. A Huge thank you to Michele and Claire for all their help in the kitchen, without whom I would never have been able to get everything prepared in time, and another Huge thank you to the McHughs for opening their home so that we could host the Braai at their home.

After a busy day, Maureen treated us to a wonderful girls Dinner night out. Thank you Maureen.

Friday dawned with excellent weather, and after the Wedding Rehearsal, guest arrived for a laid back afternoon next to the river for traditional South African fare, with Biltong (not tasteless Jerky), Boerewors, Fillet on the Braai, Potato Bake and salads, followed by Kieran’s favorite Malva Pudding and home made Hot Custard, and local Graham Vanilla IceCream with Michele’s home made Chocolate Sauce.
