We are still in St Michaels, Chesapeake Bay.

Hurricane Season is abating, and many of our Cruiser friends are already beginning to move south along the USA coast-line in preparations of heading either to the Caribbean, USVI or Bahamas.

We (Nicholas) has continued to do boat chores and upgrades to Meshugga.

The new dinghy console is complete and fitted.

Our new Lithium Batteries arrived and are fitted, not a quick task as a lot of re-programming had to happen, and new regulators required for the alternators. We can already see the huge difference in charging and usage, it is definitely the way to go, not to mention how small and light the Lithium Batteries are.

Our Washer Dryer stopped working, and the spare parts required was more expensive than buying a new machine, so we ordered new 220V machine. Thankfully Miles River Yacht Club have a onsite laundry which they kindly allowed us to use. The new Washer/Dryer has arrived and is installed taking many hours, as the inlets/outlets at the rear of the machine made it too deep for the cabinet. Nicholas had to re-route all the piping to enter an exit the machine on the side.

All my on-line Victualing, stocking up with Bobs Red Mill seeds and grains, King Arthur Flour’s, and Hoosier Dry Dairy products, is done.

We had great fun with Judge John North 11 and Comber, aboard their yacht Midnight Lace, to watch the Electric Boat Race. Somewhat smaller than usual due to Covid, there were only 6 entrants, everyone socially distanced, and wearing masks as we viewed the boats before they were launched

We were again the invited guests of Judge John who is a Trustee of the Preservation Fund, to the Christening of the Refurbished ‘Flying Cloud Log Canoe’. An afternoon in clear cold weather for a Champagne Toast and Hors d’oeuvres.

Great fun, with ice creams and the return trip on the car ferry.

We await the arrival of our new anchor chain, which is expected month end/early November, at which time we will hire a Pickup to collect it

Take care
