The weather improved, the cold front had passed and we set sail south to Isla de Vieques.

Rounding the western end of Vieques and heading along the South Coast to Puerto Mosquito, which is one of the Four renowned spots in the world to see Bioluminescence.

We anchored and launched the dinghy to check out the entrance to Puerto Mosquito, that it was deep enough to get our dinghy in.

All good, we returned to Meshugga to wait for nightfall. We prepped a cooler box with drinks and snacks, and just before sunset motored into Puerto Mosquito, paddling once we got into the Protected Reserve, and waited for darkness.

The Bay has many Tours, and as night fell, about 6 tours came with canoes, and about 20 people per tour. Excitement and chitter chatter as guides got them all into their canoes and out into the bay.

We paddled and bobbed around, waiting for darkness. Luckily the squall in the distance with rain, came nowhere near us.

All our photos did not come out well, and we were most disappointed that there was NOT the huge amount of Bioluminescence creatures we were expecting. There was the normal Phosphorescence in the water when paddling and disturbing the water, but not the bright lighted creatures.
That said, we did see a couple, mostly tangled up in seaweed, and when back at Meshugga we had a couple come past.
The Tour Guides did their best to create a memorable tour for their guests, and spend much time showing them the stars with powerful laser pointers, and getting the guests to spin their paddles in the water to create Phosphorescence.
This is the best photo I have. All you can see is a bright light in the water.
