These are the first views we had of the Rio Paraiba and Cabedelo, Brazil when we arrived on the 18th Feb 2014. It is a hot and steamy place with 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness (duh). It gets light about 5.30am and the next 2 hours are lovely and cool and calm. Thereafter, even the slightest movement makes you feel too hot, too sticky and just a little grumpy. But everyone is friendly and willing to help.

It is amazing that nearly three weeks later we are still here. So apologies about delays in blogs but we have had a difficult time getting treatment for Stephen’s bad back. Our lack of Portuguese has been a real drawback here as very few people speak English. But we are now in the happy situation of having a departure date in a few days and although Stephen’s back is still giving him problems, they are manageable.
