Yes we are still at anchor in Portimao. And making final preparations for
the departure towards Gibraltar and then Nerja. The beach view from the boat is
hard to leave but it is time to move on. Stephen and Nick went to Gramacho Golf
course on Saturday and played another good(!) game of golf. Gramacho is stunning
and only a short drive from here. Check the photo out - two Golfers Golfing. WE
also had a small drinks party onboard on Saturday night but I am not posting any
photos of that! (Sian, please send the group shot you took.)
Stephen is in his element as we have filled the small freezer on Karacool
with meat from an old fashioned butcher in Ferragudo. The Butcher couldn’t speak
any english and Stephen’s portuguese is no better. That barrier is no problem
between men and their meat. So happy tummies for a while. Just wait until I get
to Morrisons in Gibraltar, though.
Ferragudo is across the river from Portimao and is a real Portuguese town.
It has real charm and seems to be the home for a lot of the local fisherman.
Eating is good if you like fish. There are two restaurants right on the quay,
and you go and choose your fish. The price on the menu is per kilo so be careful
what you think you are asking for.
Be in touch soon.
