The islands of Kimodo and Rinjca are fascinating. We decided to go to Rinjca as it is less commercialised and hoped we would see the famous Kimodo dragon. We did. There were a group of them (about 6) who suddenly noticed us and as they started to come towards us, we legged it!! Later we discovered that they can run at 30 kmph so a wise decision on our part.

The dragons are much larger than we had imagined.

Sadly their beaches are all strewn with litter. This is mostly plastic and seems to be a curse in this area. Even when swimming you think there are jellyfish. But no, it is usually a plastic bag.
