Niue is a small and tidy island nation. We have
spent four lovely days here, and in
company with Oyster Moon have explored the island.
The culture definitely has its roots in the South
pacific reminds me of the north west
communities in the Highlands of Scotland. Everyone seems to know everybody else
and does a number of jobs if they can. There are more native Niuans in New
Zealand then here and they come back to visit family on high days and
holidays. Sadly some never return as evidenced by the number of empty houses left crumbling.
And now it is time to move on. So farewell to Niue;
a lovely island.
