Arrived in Mindelo on Sao Vicente, one of the ten islands in the group.
The island has a population of about 60,000 and is quite poor but vibrant,
noisy and musical. There is a mix of portuguese, french and african here
and although the official language is portuguese most Cape Verdians speak
Criolu and lots also speak french.

It was daunting arriving here in the early morning murk and passed wrecks
which had been hulking around for quite a long time, as in decades! The
swell is strong and although we have a berth on a pontoon in the marina,
everyone is gyrating on the ropes.

We have met up with the other members of our little group, and plan to
leave together in a few days to the next major landfall - Antigua!

More before we leave here - with some pictures this time.

Cheers.
