Steady progress in more or less the right direction. Conditions now changeable with rain squalls which generate strong local winds necessitating frequent sail changes, often in the dark (13 hour nights here). Currently ‘racing’ north in a probably vain attempt to get above a developing E-W ridge of high pressure which will cause unhelpful light winds over the next couple of days. Nearly halfway to Noumea now.
