Land Ho!

Here we are approaching a French island off the eastern tip of Guadeloupe after over three thousand miles at sea out of sight of land - the longest passage of the trip so far, even longer than the section across the Pacific from Galapagos to the Marquesas.

The rest of the crew, anxious to arrive as VS approaches Antigua under engine, the wind having completely died and with no intention of returning for several days - very unusual in the Caribbean at this time of year:
