We've stayed for more than a week at anchor in
North Sound, Virgin Gorda. Very strong and unceasing easterly winds have
prevented travelling round the archipelago but have not disrupted essential
Christmas preparations.
Here is Alison making mince pies using mincemeat
imported from the UK and bought at great expense in M&S
Bermuda.
![]() And note below the presence in the ship's manifest
of a rolling pin, the envy of our cruising friends who have carelessly come away
without this essential piece of equipment.
![]() And here are Alison and our friend Stella Myerson
(who surprisingly lives just up the road from our old haunt in Seaford) putting
up the Christmas flashing lights on our mast and boom:
![]() And pre-Christmas drinks at the Saba Rock
bar-restaurant with the northern European traditional Christmas tree just
visible on the right of picture, and to my mind looking very out of place in the
Tropics:
![]() And now it's back to the lounging around in the sun
and frolicking in the warm sea and sand.
