VS has now left Qaqortoq heading east.
Sometimes the channel is unnervingly close to the rocks. Mahimahi first as they have forward-looking sonar which VS lacks:

Approaching Zacharias Havn anchorage. Note the navigation beacon on the rocks behind the left hand iceberg:

An expedition was mounted to the icebergs, aground on a bank at the entrance to the haven:

Magnus and visiting son Joakim grabbing a chunk of iceberg for cocktails. Iceberg ice is full of air bubbles which melt with a satisfying little popping sound when immersed in whisky or gin. Icebergs at sea are surrounded by air bubbling up, and water cascading down:

The harbour inside. You could be in Scotland, although the vegetation at sea level is very similar to that on the mountain tops in Scotland.

There are flowers everywhere:

And berries:

This is a type of Empetrum I think. A small bucketful were collected in just a few minutes. Lovely.
And so to the island of Uunartoq with Greenland's only hotpool. This site was well known to the Norse and is mentioned in the Sagas. It is only warm, at 37 degrees, but it is nice to see the icebergs in the background:

The fiords here are surrounded by mountains rising to 1200m + and when the clouds clear the views are terrific:

VS now anchored at Nanortalik, last town in Greenland.
