Just about to leave Roseau, capital of Dominica,
heading for Prince Rupert bay at the northern tip of the island ready to leave
for Guadeloupe tomorrow. Weather mostly sunny today - the locals are complaining
about the amount of rain in what is supposed to be their dry
season.
Today we have been snorkelling at Champagne Reef
where volcanic gases bubble up through the shallow water giving the impression
with only a little imagination, of swimming in champagne. Saw a seahorse in the
wild for the first time and lots of beautiful fish.
Yesterday we were in the rainforest doing
waterfalls and pools. They were very good, with some quite exciting caves and
jumps, and we went to a spa in the rainforest with naturally hot sulphurous
water from the underlying volcano.
