A rough and windy night - much more wind than
forecast. I was cook last night, a really dificult task with the whole galley
(kitchen) leaning over at 20 degrees and more, and bucking around in all
directions. It's really wierd watching water falling out of the tap at an angle,
instead of vertically downwards. Anyway it took me ages and by the time i'd
finished I didn't want to eat anything and nor did Ian & Ali. Frans ate
everything put in front of him as usual.
weather has moderated somewhat, and we're making
good time in the wrong direction - heading due west about 50 miles south of
Ireland. our aim and hope is to get west of the next developing low and then
ride the northwesterly winds that follow the depression which should take
us well down into Biscay.
Crew morale good but Ali seasick. Systems all
working but poor signal on satphone means that we cannot send pictures at
present. We're investigating.
Sarah - Frans has smuggled a cake on board which
looks really good. Please send him an email telling him to share what's left of
it.
