Yes it's me writing a blog for a change!! I thought some of you might be getting a bit fed up of the zoology and geography lessons and might want to hear more of the nitty gritty stuff.
I'm usually busy swabbing the decks down, washing cloths by hand and cooking all at the same time, whilst Richard is hard at work on the computer!!

Making scones, if only the cooker was up to my baking.

A year ago today, the 1st April, we left Deganwy marina so it was quite fitting for us to be on the island of Anegada in the British Virgin Islands on this anniversary. We visited here about 12 years ago with Kate and Tom on a Sunsail charter - I thought then it was paradise found and luckily it still is.
It is my favourite island so far (together with Muck on the west coast of Scotland if only the weather was as good.) I won't bore you with the details of the place as I'm sure Richard already has, except to say it has miles and miles of crystal clear turquoise still waters behind a reef, fantastic for swimming and snorkelling and beautiful white sandy beaches with hardly a soul on them.I could quite happily spend a week here just walking around the whole island beach combing.

Our favoured mode of transport these days

What we have to put up with!!

It has been a very interesting and eventful year as you can imagine.
We have had fun with all our visitors and I shall miss the Red Cross parcel run from them all. But now we have to get used to just each other's company!!
I think we have only just started to settle down and relax and get used to this gypsy way of life, as well as each other.
Life is never boring and was quite unsettling at first, you never quite know where you are going to next and what it might throw at you!
The daily boring chores still have to be done, cooking, cleaning, washing and shopping, usually in much more difficult conditions than at home thus taking ten times as long, especially as the logistics of shopping and getting supplies back to the boat when found can be quite challenging.
We have visited some very beautiful places and met some very interesting people as well as making some very good friends on our way.
I do have moments when I  miss family and friends and wish I could be sharing these fantastic places together with family. Hopefully  they will all get out to visit us at some point. Tom is manageing to fullfill his quota!!
I do realise how lucky we are to be doing what we are doing, it's our way of escaping from reality but what the heck!
I'm looking forward to our next 12 months ahead with hopefully not too many exciting sailing moments!!
