We have at last arrived in the Islands (Columbus
Archipelago in Spanish: I don't know why, because Galapagos is in itself a
Spanish name, and Columbus/Colon never got into the Pacific after a slow and
frustrating sail from Panama - but we did manage to sail (and drift) the whole
way without using the engine.
We are now exactly a quarter of the way around the
world from the Greenwich Meridian, 5292 nautical miles from the Conwy Sea Buoy
and seven hours behind UK BST.
ETA for Academy Bay Santa Cruz 1700hrs local
time.
