Well we're finally on our way.Here's the melee just
before the start with 250 boats milling around trying not to hit each other.
Amazingly it seems that we all escaped unscathed. The weather was not kind, grey
and overcast with drizzle but it soon picked up - you can't see it in the photo
but the sky quickly cleared from the east leaving a lovely sunny afternoon with
a decent north-easterly breeze to waft us down south towards the Cape Verde
islands some 750 nm away.
