Our aim when leaving Ascension had been to go straight to St Maarten do do boat jobs, then quickly proceed to the 'next door' BVIs, our favourite islands in the Caribbean where we had arranged visitors. Apart from the enforced stop at Antigua due to lack of wind this was achieved. Here is the VS safely at anchor at White Bay on the south side of Peter Island. Despite the BVIs having the world's largest fleet of charter yachts there remain quiet and beautiful anchorages if you know where to go. This photo was taken on the walk over the island to a swish resort on the other side for late breakfast.

This is the fuel dock at tiny Marina Cay (pronounced Key), with it's iconic phone box - sadly no longer operational.

Also on Marina Cay, here are two of our guests, Christine Sheperd on the left, and Liz Wigglesworth on the right.

This is Little Jost van Dyke looking across the very interesting shallow platform towards Jost van Dyke. Much interesting wildlife inhabits these shallows, but here all you can see are our three female crew members, Alison in her very smart high tec rash vest/sun protector standing, Christine on the left and Liz on the right.

And finally, one of my favourite views. This is on Virgin Gorda, looking out to sea towards the NE. In the foreground is Saba Rock, a restaurant and small hotel. Right at the bottom of the picture you can see a small hut which is part of the famous Bitter End Yacht Club (now a resort). In the background on the left is Prickly Pear Island, a National Park, and on the right is part of Eustatia owned by the CEO of Google. The pale bit in the centre distance is a very nice shallow anchorage that we used. Just out of sight on the right is Richard Branson's private island, Necker. I still think this is the best part of the Caribbean.
