Fremantle Town

The crew of Vulcan Spirit have been in Fremantle (named after Captain Fremantle RN) for a considerable time now, and very nice it is too. Fremantle sits at the mouth of the Swan River and is Perth’s port. It has a university right in the centre of town and the place has an arty vibe to it. The main street is known, with cause, as the "Cappuccino Strip” - to the extent of being signed as such!

The town has managed to retain a good range of older buildings which lend it a degree of charm unusual in Australia.

Interesting to note how quiet the streets are too - the locals think the traffic is terrible.
