We've left Panama City now, and are in the Las Perlas (The Pearls) islands, 30nm offshore but still part of Panama. Las Perlas are famous for two things: firstly the Nicaraguan Peace process which assiduous students of then-current affairs will recall was negotiated on the island of Contadora in the 1990s, and more recently because of the "Survivor" 'reality' TV series which was filmed on the island of La Chapera.
Here is a modern survivor on La Pechera, tramping through the jungle (actually it's technically dry forest, and very benign dry forest at that; no dangerous animals, and no flies biting or otherwise) and looking every inch the British tourist abroad, don't you think?

PS Don't you just love that hat?
