So it was Christmas again. Here we are in
the afternoon sunshine enjoying the day (one of us perhaps slightly more
than the other to judge by the photo). Alison, aided and abetted by Stella
Myerson, somehow managed to produce turkey with all the trimmings including
stuffing and sprouts (luckily Gareth Owen was not here to pinch my share of the
sprouts). All that was missing was pigs in blankets (cocktail sausages wrapped
in bacon, for those of you not from Liverpool). And real (courtesy of M&S
Bermuda) Christmas pudding for dessert, followed by a game of boule on the beach
and then a screening of Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye in saccharin sweet
'White Christmas'. They don't make 'em like that any more, thank
God. But Vera Ellen certainly makes 'Strictly Come Dancing' look
feeble.
