Northern Antigua is guarded by a barrier reef and some small islands. The photo shows the view out across the reef from Great Bird Island with the shallow water showing a lighter colour. The island is the last home of one of the world's rarest snakes - but of course we didn't see it. We did see this splendid male Antigua Ground Lizard which was wandering round our feet on the beach until I tried to photograph it when it promptly ran away (of course). I've put it on because as some of you may have noticed there is a dire shortage of lizard photos on the Blog - something I'll try to remedy in the future.
