Hmmm!
Eowyn

Éowyn is moored in St
David's bay Grenada
We arrived in Grenada on Monday the
6th January after a flawless journey courtesy Virgin Atlantic.
The first problem was with Grenada
Customs who insisted that we pay 41% import duty on a roll of carpet, despite
having the correctly stamped C14 which should have entitled us to the 2.5% rate.
Ho Hmm.
Hard work for 4 days was the
Captain's order and all was going well, especially when the expected issue with
the steering and rudder turned out to be a simple adjustment. I never know how
you can leave a boat in perfect order and return a few months later to find lots
of things not working. This time it was 2 halyard winches, the outboard, the
inverter, shower pump, air filter, etc etc. Sadly one of the faults is a propane
leak and we will have to seek some professional help as the skipper has failed
to isolate problem.
On the social side we met up with
David and Anne Marie from Calypso and more surprisingly Joy and Ian from
Reberth.
Our few pleasant days at La Sagesse
have come to an end as we plod on with the work. Hopefully we will get some
sails up tomorrow and get the outboard working. At least with the replacement
inverter we can make a cup of tea, if a cooked meal is beyond our capabilities
right now.
