We are under way to Galapagos. Having sailed most of the day, we have lost all wind and are motoring through the night. We are using low revs to conserve fuel so we are making just over 5 knots. I still hope to get there on 21st February. We have 780 miles to run as a revised forecast means we can take a more direct route. The spinnaker went well until we lost all wind and we have had no trouble with the dinghy on deck. I think we have made the right choice as several blogs from other yachts say how bad it is in the harbour in Ecuador.

We got some wind at 9pm Saturday and have made good sailing progress in the night. The sea is pretty calm. We are out of VHF contact with Bristol Rose so they must be 20 miles behind. Mind you they caught 3 fish yesterday!

I have been experimenting successfully with the Remoska again. Saturday, I used it to bake a cake and tonight we baked one of the Fray Bentos pies in it. This morning we has a corned beef hash from the Remoska for breakfast. The saving in gas is important and the things cook well too. It's so good I wish I had the larger one too!
