You may wonder why so many blogs. This is in part due to the improving network of Arnold Baird's HotHotHotspot network. Started in 2006, it provides baywide wifi in many of the anchorages we inhabit and for 50$ US a month we can use it most days. Initially it was rather slow but we have noticed dramatic speed increases this year and can even use Skype with video.

It was a motor for 5 hours to the Saintes but we were able to commission the watermaker and fill the tanks. Since we were last here there have been many changes. It is now required to use the government moorings. They are secure & well laid but cost 11 euro per night. There is a noticeable reduction in the number of yachts since we were here last and this cost may be a factor. For our part we are happy with the new arrangement as the holding was not always the best here and the French had a tendency to anchor way too close.

Ashore our favourite restaurant La Saladerie has not changed, thank goodness. For us it is the best in the French islands with a menu based on poissins cru and carpaccios

The View from Outside and Inside La Saladerie

As we both have back problems, we decided the hike to the Fort was not a good idea so we rented scooters for the day. The views all around the Island are stunning. Tomorrow we head off to Prince Rupert Bay, Dominica, only 25 miles to the South
