Éowyn is in Rodney Bay Marina, St Lucia in position 14:04.418 N 60:57.017W

On Monday evening we slipped out of Bequia to Young Island Cut on St Vincent. By picking up a mooring there, we could slip away early the next day and reduce our passage time by 1 1/2 hours to ensure we would arrive at Marigot Bay in daylight. Initially on Tuesday we motorsailed and experienced the usual confused and rough seas at the North of St Vincent  - it soon smoothed out however and the wind gods gave us enough East in the wind to give a fast close reach to St Lucia - our average of over 7 knots is pretty good for Eowyn upwind!

When we reached the Marina at Marigot Bay, there were some surprises in store. Chris has been hoarding our washing for 3 weeks as she liked the do-it-yourself machines at Marigot. Surprise, surprise the laundry has gone - so has the Moorings charter base, many of the shops and the place is operating in low key mode. There are new owners to the Discovery and Marina  complex and hopefully, marina manager Bob Hathaway can educate them as to the needs of cruising sailors. 5 star hotel laundry at $6 US per pound is certainly not one of them. Without the Moorings base, I wonder how long the grocery shop will remain open?

Without the laundry, we made our way on Wednesday to Rodney Bay Marina, whichin contrast is buzzing - almost full and with all facilities in full swing.

On the dock were Tim and Maria from Mina2 with tales of woe and problems with their Hood furling gear. The furling swivel of both mainand yankee had failed together with the main outhaul. Partly repaired, they will continue to Antigua without their mainsail. I expect to see them there as we need a rig report from "Stan the Man"

Sadly "Magnetic Attraction" was on C dock, Margaret Pratt about to depart St Lucia following the murder of husband Roger almost 2 weeks ago.

We plan to continue up Island on Saturday, stopping at the Saintes and Deshais in Guadeloupe
