Éowyn is in Le Phare Bleu

We returned to Éowyn last
Tuesday to discover a few unexpected problems. Firstly, the people who check the
boat monthly had grossly overfilled the batteries resiuting in a spillage of a
litre of acid!!!
Next, one of the Raymarine
instruments had failed completely - the first Raymarine failure on Eowyn in 10
years.
Then we discovered a series of
problems with the foresail handling - a faulty sheave, a problem halyard and a
sticking furling mechanism.
We next discovered many corroded zips
and tears in our canvas work.
Finally, the 18 month old engine
start battery was found to be kaput!
We are starting to resolve the
problems but inevitably we are a few days behind schedule.
We have managed to stay cheerful
helped by dinner and rum with many old friends and some
new.
