After Tobago Cays, we visited Petit
Martinique, mainly to take on the cheap diesel at B & C Fuels and then to
Chatham Bay on Union Island for a lobster supper with "Shark Attack". Chatham is
a great bay with a quiet anchorage and good snorkelling but the recent
construction of a road is likely to bring changes. We have already seen 2 beach
bars (shacks) open in the last few months.

The next stop was Canouan where the
Tinker Tramp gave up the ghost, the floor parting from the tubes. The decision
was taken to go straight to Bequia where we could at least get a water taxi
ashore. Bequia is never a disappointment and as we waited for the glue to cure
on the Tiuker, we booked several excellent dives with "Dive Adventures" with the
crew of the US yacht "Surprise"

With the Tinker repaired, the
decision was taken to buy a Caribe lightweight 9ft RIB. The choice was difficult
but after testing one courtesy of the crew of Swedish Yacht "Spray", the
decision was easy. We will have to live with the stowage problems, but the
performance even with our 3.5 hp outboard, is excellent. We can certainly stow
it on the foredeck and with some difficulty on the aft deck for ocean
passages.
