On Monday, we moved anchorage to Ricketts Bay on Green Island. Mr Clapton is following us!!! - his fancy motor yacht is the only other vessel here.

The 100 Year Plant in Bloom!!!
The anchorages of Green Island and Nonsuch Bay are delightful but commercial pressure means there is substantial property development underway in the formerly unspoilt backwater. We went ashore for a drink at excellent Harmony Hall, but their prices for lunch are obviously designed to attract folk with deeper pockets than us. After another night, back to Falmouth to stock up and catch up on some regular maintenance before going stern to on the dock at English harbour and dining at the excellent Gallery restaurant.

Mike and Val left on Friday and at 0600 we set sail for Guadeloupe
.
Bye Val - Where's Mike !!
Sods aw prevailed and the wind turned South East then Southerly, so this was an opportunity to charge the batteries and make water, rather than sail. Passing Pigeon Island, we saw Regina and spoke to Leon on VHF.  He advised that the S wind was making the anchorages very rolly so we cranked up the iron tops'l and pushed on for Saintes which is sheltered from the South. We arrived at twilight and secured a good pitch to anchor.

We set of at dawn for Point a Pitre, Marina Bas du Fort where we cleared customs with the help of the friendly and efficient marina staff. As water is included in the tariff, we took the opportunity to scrub the teak decks, the first time since Eowyn was new. What a difference, just with fresh water -  no brushes or chemicals, just a 3M pad!!
Jacqui & Chris at Point a Pitre

Jacqui was duly met at the airport - we hadn't seen her for 6 months so we were all keen for the reunion. Although she was tired having flown form Edinburgh to Paris to Guadeloupe, the next morning we were all keen to sail to Saintes. Our fervour was rewarded by a close sighting of a sperm whale with calf and an excellent sail in light South-easterly winds.
