Montserrat to Antigua

We set sail for Montserrat, but had been delayed
by the late opening of the Customs office on Nevis. As a result we were not at
the anchorage at Little Bay in time to explore the Island. We had spectacular
views from the anchorage so we decided not to clear in at Montserrat. After a
very rolly night at anchor, we set off for Antigua and dropped the hook in the
mangroves at English Harbour in good time to plan New Year's Eve. We alternated
between the steel band at Admiral's Inn and the reggae ath the Dockyard and even
managed to stay awake until 1.00 am.
Unfortunately and unexplicably, the next day, we
dragged our anchor in the mangroves but luckily had passed 4 yachts and their
chains without touching anything!! We moved round to Falmouth and after 2
aborted attempts, dropped the hook before dark.
The next day, we had a fast sail to Jolly
Harbour and used this as a base to visit St Johns, the capital.
Back to English Harbour, we went stern to at the
dockyard and the next day, met Vicki and Martha at the airport.
Antigua is always the place to see how the other
half live and Mirabella V (the largest single masted yacht in the world) led the
way!!! We are sitting now awaiting news of Tropical Storm Zeta to plan our
cruise tio Barbuda.
