In Trinidad

Eowyn

We had an uneventful sail to Trinidad apart from the lack of wind. We seem to be lucky compared to other yachts as, so far, most of our systems appear to be fully functional. We entered the Boca with the usual cross tide

Arriving at Crew Inn without a booking is always dubious, but after a night at anchor we were fitted in with an alongside berth which will make the watermaker installation easier. Trinidad seems to contain a large percentage of the population of Newton Ferrers and we bumped in to Hilda and Simon Julien working on their Sadler 34, Callisto and we moored near Oriole, the Bowman 40 of Chris and John Little, but rumour had it that they were delivering a yacht from Martinique. It is wonderful to have a swimming pool in a Marina!!! - especially as, unlike most, we do not have an air conditioner on Éowyn.

Saturday night saw the YSATT Christmas party at Peakes with local food and 2 calypso bands

Today (Sunday) we have arranged a nature and bird watching tour of the Island including a visit to see the scarlet ibis at the Caroni swamps.Tomorrow (hopefully) Echo Marine begin the watermaker installation.
