After 6 weeks in Europe, visiting Graham's Mum in Tenerife
and a trip to Rome for Graham's birthday, we returned to Antigua on 15th March
to find Eowyn in good nick. tired from the flight, we still managed 3 hours work
that evening. On Thursday, we had a new gps engine to install as the old
Raymarine unit had a "known issue". The wiring was a little different so we had
to enlist the help of George, the onsite electronics whizz. This not only
resolved the problem , but resulted to an invite to 2 Antigua Yacht Club
barbeques at Carlisle Bay.
The weather looks a lot more settled than when we left in
late January and it is certainly better than the freezing conditions back
home!

On Friday, Val and Mike Birch joined us for a 2
week visit. Mike crewed with me in our 2004 Atlantic crossing. We duly set sail
for Carlisle Bay and I was delighted to make VHF and SSB contact with Leon
Schultz on his HR40 "Regina".
Leon crossed last year with wife Karolina and
children Jessica and Jonathan. They originate from Sweden and Leon and I have
exchanged much data about our respective HR specifications. We have had several
unsuccessful attempts to meet up and here was the perfect
opportunity.
On Saturday there was a regular BBQ ashore and
on Sunday afternoon, Regina joined us for the Hawaiian style gathering on the
beach. A great time was had by all!!
