Éowyn is underway to St Helena
in position 30:58.015S
012:55.976E
We have had 2 excellent day
runs, the first of 170 miles which is about as fast as we can go and yesterday
of 160 miles. Today, Monday, the wind was forecast to back and strengthen so we
dropped the yankee and hoisted the twistle rig. This is hard work and very time
consuming so I hope the gamble pays off. We hope to keep this rig up night and
day all the way to St Helena. We can keep it up when strong winds force the
spinnaker yachts to drop their coloured sails. It was the first time Bob had
seen this rig which is rather different to any other as it sways across the
bow.
I also started the water make
today, the first time since November - all seems fine. Thor VI, Tucanon and 2
unidentified yachts are within 10 mile of us.
