Bay Grenada in position 11:59.93N 61:45.90W As we are still on the backup laptop,
all photos are from stock or downloaded from the internet. On Saturday 22nd December, we sailed
the short passage from St Vincent to Bequia and took up our usual station near
Frangipani. With Jacqui recuperating after the
unscheduled visit to St Vincent Hospital, things were quiet but we did fit in an
Island tour and had Christmas Eve and Christmas day dinners at the Gingerbread
where we met Mindy with whom we had spent last Christmas. The weather was pretty
good so short periods of sunbathing were permitted to the
invalid!!! Admiralty Bay Bequia We were presented with a very large
Caribbean rum cake by "African" who runs some of the moorings in Admiralty Bay.
African has promoted himself to "Captain African" as he now is doing absentee
management of a number of yachts. African We displayed our array of Christmas
lights, somewhat depleted when the first mate dropped a transformer
overboard! The OCC has a net on 4027 on the SSB
but so far the only participants have been John Lytle on "Oriole" (who runs it!)
and ourselves. Nevertheless it was great to know our SSB was working well and to
receive the news from Antigua. Also working well is the WaveRV Wifi booster
antenna so we now have internet to the chart table at most anchorages. We heard
also from Roger and Janice Dance setting out on their Pacific voyage on
"Beaujolais". They are still in the Florida Keys but their exploits can be
followed on http://blog.mailasail.com/beaujolais On Boxing Day we set sail and in
perfect conditions of Easterly force 5 winds we broad reached down to Carriacou
where we spent the night in Tyrell Bay. An early start the next day meant we
were in Grenada by lunchtime and at anchor here in Prickly Bay. Beach at Calabash Hotel Prickly
Bay We joined the crews of Bonaccord and
Rebirth on a shopping trip to St Georges and today we all took a bus to the
evening fish fry at Gouyave - a great way to eat well and support the local
community too!! Fish Fry Gouyave We plan an Island tour on Monday
arranged by Inga from the Grenada Cruisers Net and then a Safari Supper on
"Rebirth" On the 2nd Jacqui flies to St Lucia on her way back to the
