Mayday, Basia

Éowyn is underway from
Recife Brazil to Grenada in
position 01:39.205N 043:45.333W
At dawn this morning we
received a Mayday from the catamaran Basia. She had been run down by a freighter
(which did not stop) and dismasted.
We were first on the scene to
find they had cut away their rig but were taking water on the starboard hull
which had been holed.
Tucanon joined us an hour
later and with the help of Moe & Bev and their RIB, Mike made a temporary
repair to the outside of Basia's hull to stop the leak.
250 litres of fuel were
transferred from the other yachts now including Destiny.
We are all continuing slowly
to the Caribbean with a further refuelling planned from Arianne &
Jeannius in a few days.
We expect to arrive in Grenada
a day later than planned, perhaps on the 26th
