After some delays at Tobago due to
bad weather, we arrived quite tired at Grenada on 15th November, pleased to be
staying at La Sagesse and not in the boatyard.
After
months of lay-up there is always a lot of work to do and this time was no
exception. As the wet weather was still with us we decided to wait until the
Tropical Wave had passed before removing the covers and we spent Friday and most
of Saturday on internal work. As usual some things were found to be not working
but the spares kit came good and all
was well.
On Saturday afternoon, we got the
covers off and spent Sunday cleaning the decks. The antifouling still looked
good from last year so we decided just to touch in the bare patches. The guys in
the boatyard had polished the hull so by Monday we were ready to splash.
Unfortunately, four other boats had to be moved to get to us. Sam and Margie on
Encantada had launched early in the day, but had to be rehauled when a skin
fitting sprung a leak. We got in about 5pm and decided to go back to La Sagesse
for a lobster dinner as we had no groceries on board.

Next day, we discovered the
outboard carburettor was clogged so a complete service was necessary before we
could go ashore to sort out the last details. Having lost 3 hours and spent
another 2 collecting and bending on the sails, we turned in after a Royal spread
of soup and bread. On Wednesday we plan to go to the new Phare Bleu marina to
get some canvas made up by Dave Royce and thence to Prickly Bay for a weeks
scuba diving before Val and Mike join us next week.
