This update is sent from Prickly
Bay Grenada in position 12:00.05N 61:45.61W.
After splashing at St Davids and
spending a day bending on the sails and changing filters etc., we motored to the
new Phare Bleu Marina to get some small canvas items made up by Dave & Jane
Royce who are now based there.
We took the opportunity to
have a delightful dinner in the Vastra Banken, a converted lightship which
is the centre piece of the development.
The next day, we sailed to Prickly
Bay where we started 6 days diving with Scubatech. The dives were excellent
although strong spring tides restricted our diving on the Atlantic side to drift
dives. On the Caribbean side, we explored the main reefs and dived the wrecks of the Bianca C, Buccaneer, Shakem, and
Rhum Runner. We saw a great little seahorse on the Shakem!
Spot the Seahorse!
Sadly, the next day, I slipped in the
dive boat and broke my underwater camera housing!
In between dives we continued our
yacht maintenance including a new engine starter battery and on Thursday 29th
November, we were ready to welcome Val & Mike Birch onboard.
We motored to Clarkes Court Bay to
try the new restaurant at Whisper Cove and then back to Prickly Bay to a BBQ at
Scubatech to celebrate 12 months of the new management.
Jochen, Carsten and Sabine of
Scubatech
Next stop is Carriacou and then on to
the Grenadines.
