Salvador - SO HOT
Eowyn
Sat 12 Feb 2011 12:05
Éowyn is still moored in
the Termino Nautico marina in Salvador (San Salvador de Bahia in full),
Brazil in position 12:58.348S
038:30.959W
It is uncomfortably hot here,
yesterday was 35 degrees C (95 F) We don't really expect sympathy from the
the folks at home, suffering in the cold. However, we did very little yesterday
because of the heat. It was as well as the marina dock cleat holding us and Thor
VI broke away in the afternoon. Nothing is maintained in this country! We
are now quite accustomed to the security guards in the marina, all packing side
arms.
After a few boat chores today
we will spend more time in the Old Town. Bob & I both have twinges in our
backs, so my pro-shiadsu massager will be in use this morning.
Tomorrow we have a 2 day tour
to historical Cachoeira. Hopefully we will absorb some more of the culture. Mike
returns soon and we plan to explore the Islands around Salvador. Many of the
other WARC yachts are already exploring the
Bay.
