Heading North
Eowyn
Sun 26 Jan 2014 20:12
Éowyn is anchored at
Hamilton, on the North side of
Admiralty Bay Bequia in position 13:00.607 N 61:14.646W
We chose our weather slot well
and headed off on 22ndJanuary to Union Island but on the way after a
conversation with Neil on Escapade, we decided instead to pull into Tyrell Bay,
Carriacou. They had caught a couple of yellow fin tuna and the offer of sushi
was too good to resist. We mhad a great night with the 6 onboard and went out
for a great meal.
The next day we headed off to
Bequia with a fantastic SE wind, averaging over 7 knots for the 40 mile reach.
We anchored in our usual quiet place on the N side and were even early enough to
clear in without the high overtime charges now levied in SVG.
We were astonished later when
a dinghy with Simon & Hilda Julien pulled alongside. We knew that their
yacht Callisto was in the UK. We did not realise they had bought a second (and
very pretty) yacht, Briza. We linked up with them on Friday for an excellent
fish friday at the Fig Tree and onward to the Mustique Blues Festival, where
Dana Gillespie and guests were playing - it was FANTASTIC! Unfortunately anno
domini won the day and we left just as the locals were arriving to continue the
jump up till 0300!.
We are now waiting for a fair
wind to head North but it looks like we might have a bouncy ride! Tuesday is the
day, all being well
