Éowyn is underway to St Helena

We had decided to have the
heavy twistle sail rather than the genoa as that sail change is rather onerous
for 3 old men!
We had a perfect start, first
across just seconds after the gun and whilst some yachts were becalmed on the
East side of Hout Bay, we had a good beat in the middle, exiting the Bay still
ahead. The winds have been very kind, but not as forecast. We have about 15
knots SW giving us an average speed of 7.2 knots for the first 24 hours, with
very little effort by the crew! This is about as fast as we can go and as usual,
Thor VI is close to us just ahead.
It will take a couple of days
to get back in the routine and for Bob to get to know how the boat sails, but so
far so good
