update!
We managed to find our weather
slot and got into Cape Town on 23rd November at midday. We had to use the engine
extensively to motorsail and ensure we beat the heavy weather!
On our approach to the port,
we experienced the renowned strong katabatic winds funnelling down Table
Mountain. In these 40 knot winds, tying up at the marina was extremely
difficult, more so as we had to move to another berth once we registered with
the yacht club!
Two hours later Rui on Thor VI
arrived. Mike got on board to help him dock and we needed 5 helpers from the
marina to get him in safely.
